The name “Raptor” is already a tradition in the automotive world. Since 2008 it has been present on the Ford F-150, identifying a version with characteristics and special adaptation for difficult terrain, and especially for deserts. In addition, this goes hand in hand with a special powertrain and suspension adjustments.

In 2018, Ford surprised the world market with the intervention of Ford Performance to its midsize pick-up, giving birth to the new Ranger Raptor. Initially it was focused only for the Oceania and Southeast Asian markets. Then it arrived in Latin America and in 2021, it arrives in Colombia to compete with the Nissan Frontier PRO-4X, Chevrolet Colorado and Toyota Hilux GR-S.

Ford Colombia gave us the opportunity to know this powerful truck along 700 kilometers, both in urban and off-road mode, getting into all its benefits, improvements and sins. In the following lines, we will tell you about our experience.

From the side, the flared shoulders stand out over the fenders, with plastic protectors in smoke gray tone. The wheels are 17-inch gloss black, shod with 33-inch All-Terrain tires. In the center is a corrugated-textured running board finished in matte black. On the rear fender, a decal with the word “Raptor” stands out.

Despite their natural aggressiveness, Utharaptors have become one of the premier war mounts for roving bands of riders, as well as scouts for larger collectives. Those who ride Utharaptors claim they are difficult to tame but fiercely loyal. Like any carnivore, once tamed, they require a great deal of meat.

Raptors are aggressive dinosaurs that will attack both players and other creatures in the world. When they are attacking they use a “run and bite” strategy. Raptors attack in packs of 7, so they can appear in groups of 2 – 4 and there will usually be a leader. These animals have a high speed of movement and attack, so it is difficult to escape from them.

This section displays the Raptor’s natural colors and regions. For demonstration, the regions below are colored red over an albino Raptor. The colored squares shown underneath each region’s description are the colors that the Raptor will randomly spawn with to provide an overall range of its natural color scheme. Hover your cursor over a color to display its name and ID.

Velociraptor’s tail was rigid, with long bony projections (zygoapophyses) at the top of each vertebra and ossified tendons beneath it. The prezygoapophyses began at the tenth caudal vertebra and extended forward to reinforce four to ten additional vertebrae, depending on the position of the tail. The stiffness reinforced the entire tail allowing it to act as a rod-shaped unit, preventing vertical movements between vertebrae. However, at least one specimen preserves a series of intact caudal vertebrae in an ‘S’ shaped curve, suggesting that there was considerable horizontal flexibility. These tail adaptations probably provide balance and stability when turning, especially at high speeds.[6][2] It is a similar mechanism, and in evolutionary convergence, to the tail of cheetahs.

A notable feature of Velociraptor is that it was covered with feathers. Not only was it covered with down, but it also had complex feathers on its forearms[7][8] similar to the remiges of present-day birds. However, this curious animal was never able to fly.
